Runway 3 at klia2 has reopened for operations since 2010 hours yesterday evening, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (Malaysia Airports) clarified in a statement.
The airport operator said that the runway was temporarily withdrawn from operations at 1200 hours yesterday to facilitate urgent surface repair works.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we thank the teams involved for the swift actions taken. Passenger safety remains our top priority,” it stated via its Facebook post today.
The airport operator is responding to reports about delayed and cancelled flights by AirAsia which drew complaints from passengers, with one netizen demanding AirAsia’s Tony Fernandes to “buck up”.
