KOTA KINABALU — Dec. 7, 2018: Petronas will continue to give out food packages to 130 government clinics in several rural areas until the end of the year.
Some of the areas are Pitas, Kota Marudu, Kinabatangan, Tongod, Sipitang, Kudat, Kuala Penyu, Lahad Datu, Kota Belud, Beaufort and Tuaran.
The programme to distribute the packages has been going since mid-2017 with the cooperation of the state health department aimed at helping with nutrition, with recipients getting items like milk and supplements.
Sabah health services director Datuk Christina Rundi is pleased that Petronas has stepped in to provide funding which allows the department to reach 13 districts with clinics in the remotest of locations.
Petronas Sabah and Labuan regional general manager Rokiah Sulaiman said the programme is in line with the national oil company’s Sentuhan Kasih programme which Petronas launched in 2005. — Bernama
